• St. Peter's gym facelift leads to schedule shifts
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- The state-of-the-art gymnasium expansion at St. Peter's Boys HS will initially delay the playing of home basketball games for the boys' and girls' teams, but administrators at the New Brighton school hope it will be available for game use by early January.

• Manley's free throws lift MSIT
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Pucky Manley's free throws with 19 seconds remaining and McKee/Staten Island Tech's relentless pressure defense enabled the visiting Sea Gulls to score their first win of the season, a 75-71 non-league decision over Evander Childs yesterday in the Bronx.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Bloochy Magliore made five 3-point shots and totaled 20 points and Ishmael Odoi and Marcus Medley added 10 apiece as Susan Wagner opened its boys' basketball season with a 70-52 non-league win over Fort Hamilton yesterday.
