An x1 express bus has been involved in an accident near the intersection of Hylan Boulevard and Tysens Lane in New Dorp.

There is no immediate word on injuries but the crash will likely cause the morning rush to slow on Hylan as emergency crews respond.

Police today asked the public's assistance locating two male African Americans wanted in connection with a four-hour robbery spree that crisscrossed Staten Island and left some victims injured.

In the six heists police have attributed to the pattern, the suspects approached their victims, displayed a silver handgun and knife, removed property from their victims, then fled. Some victims sustained minor injuries in the robberies.

Police today released video surveillance footage of a man and woman using a credit card that was reported stolen in one of the heists.

The male and female have been labeled persons of interest in the case, and it is not clear what role they played in the robberies.

A burglary suspect, wounded by a retired cop, was taken into custody in Staten Island's New Springville neighborhood after a wild chase this afternoon.

The suspect fled from Lucille Avenue in Rossville before being apprehended at Richmond and Saxon avenues in New Springville.
